A few words about Drunken Gramophone
Lo-fi Rock ‘n’ Roll band from Athens.
1. What do you see in your dreams?
I’m a gramophone, and more importantly a drunken one, but I’ ll try to answer as a human. I dream of a city, a dark, dirty, wet city, soaked in love and hatred, full of people’s cries, full of music and noise.
2. What is the most important thing in life?
Memory. Without it you’re just another brick in the wall.
3. When alone, do you talk to yourself? If so, what do you talk about?
Yeah, I talk to myself a lot. No one expects a gramophone talking, but when alone, I usually recite poems. Bukowski, Kavafi, Rimbaud, Eliot, Dylan, Cave.
4. How is this world going to end?
Oh well. The world exists only in our minds. So, with a single, individual, death. In my case, some electronic fuck-up, or lack of usage. Death comes only if you’re forgotten.
5. Why do music?
Oh my, what an utterly existential question to ask a gramophone. Because I’m programmed to do so. Maybe I must rebel. Oh… wait. I just, can’t.
